Native American Heritage Month: Poetry with a Kick!

Sat Nov 8
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM

Join Renée Roman Nose, award-winning author and poet, for a poetry workshop. Renée has held workshops across America and Canada, guiding others to find their own, unique voice. In this class, you will learn how to dig deep, to perform in a confident manner and to share the messages of your poetry in a fun, caring and interesting way. The class will be followed by a Spoken Word Open Mic event to be open to the public, featuring a guest poet performance.

Renée Roman Nose, MAIS, citizen of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma, is an activist, artist, motivational speaker, poet, photographer, and cultural anthropologist. Author of Sweet Grass Talking, published by Uttered Chaos Press, Roman Nose is inspired by historical and contemporary issues. Her spoken word CD, The River of Life, with noted Native flute player, Peter Ali, is available in person, on Spotify, and on Amazon.

Open to ages 12 and up with a guardian. This event is first come, first served.

Made possible by The Library Foundation through support from The Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Fund.
