East County Library is now open for you to enjoy!

Join us for a 45 minute walking tour through the building. We will meet near the Central stair. Registration required.

Toddlers (with a favorite adult) enjoy interactive stories, songs and games that encourage their emerging language skills. Attendance is limited and free tickets are available 15 minutes before storytime.

Play and learning go hand in hand. While our storytimes are on break, join other families for a fun playtime (for ages birth - 1) with board books, toys, music, and all the room your baby needs to learn through play. As Mr. Rogers said, "... for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood."

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, come join the fun as we learn together. All experience levels and ages welcome. Please bring your own supplies.

Virtual Tutoring is for Multnomah County students in grades K-12 who need support in language arts, math, science or social studies. 

We offer three terms a year, each running for 8 weeks.

The student’s weekly appointment will be for 30 minutes on Tuesdays, sometime between 4 and 6 pm. They will be assigned an exact timeslot and tutor prior to the start of the term. These remain the same for the entire term.

Practice your new reading skills! Each week you'll listen to a story, practice reading with a teen volunteer. This program is especially for kindergartners to second graders. Register here.

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to Dobin, a therapy dog. For kids and teens. Call 503.988.5123 to register.

Join us for a special storytime celebrating African American heritage and culture! Get ready to boogie at our Black Family Storytime: Boo Bash, with costumes welcomed! Children from birth to age 6 will have fun with books, songs, a pumpkin craft, and movement activities in a positive and affirming environment. Black Storytime builds language and literacy skills your child needs to be ready for kindergarten.

Do you have knitting and/or crocheting projects that you’d love to get finished? Or new ones you want to start? Please join us for this social group on Tuesdays for yarn work and fun! Intermediate and more advanced crafters are welcome.

Stones, Bones and Black-Eyed Peas presents: Our favorite African American children's books, and the recipes that go along with them. Join chef and owner of Finer Things Events and Catering, Michelle Guinn, along with her daughter, Sable Askew and take a trip back into history.

Join us for a special Halloween edition of Rainbow Family Pajama Storytime. Children from birth to age 6 (with a favorite adult) enjoy books highlighting LGBTQ+ families, along with songs, rhymes and movement activities - in their costumes or pajamas! Grab your bedtime buddy and enjoy a parade around the library to show your costumes off at the end of storytime.

Children ages birth to 6 along with their families and friends are welcome to enjoy Native culture through singing, movement, crafts, and stories. Everyone is welcome! Presented by Native library staff. Attendance is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

This preschool storytime is especially welcoming for children and families who are looking for a more adaptive virtual storytime experience.
