On Saturday, December 16, 2023, the library’s Black Cultural Library Advocates (BCLA) hosted the community in a Kwanzaa pre-celebration at the Soul Restoration Center in northeast Portland.

My MCL is the library catalog where you can find library items and access e-books, online magazines, films and other online resources.
Creating access for self-published authors through The Library Writers Project
Since 2015, MCL has been soliciting submissions of self-published e-books from the community, initially just adult fiction, but expanding to children’s and teen books and memoir in subsequent submissions rounds. Learn more about the Library Writers Project.

New Holgate Library to open in July as larger, modern library
PORTLAND, Ore.--June 17, 2024
Multnomah County Library is excited to announce the grand opening of the brand new Holgate Library on July 13, 2024. Holgate is the first new, permanent library to open in Multnomah County in more than a decade and the most energy efficient library ever built in Multnomah County. It’s a bright and modern space, built to be open, flexible and sustainable.
