New features
Refresh projects are currently underway to provide upgrades to 11 libraries not undergoing major renovations. These projects will ensure the libraries are able to take advantage of system-wide changes and provide safe, modern and welcoming spaces for patrons.
The 11 Refresh libraries are:
- Capitol Hill Library (Closed May 17, 2023; Reopened January 2024)
- Central Library (Closed March 11, 2023; Reopened February 2024)
- Gregory Heights Library (Closed July 20, 2023; Reopened December 2023)
- Fairview-Columbia Library (Closed January 19, 2024; Reopened August 2024)
- Hillsdale Library (Closed March 3, 2024; Reopened August 2024)
- Troutdale Library (Closed June 21, 2024; Reopened November 2024)
- Kenton Library (Closed February 21, 2025; Reopened July 2025)
- Woodstock Library (Closed March 17, 2025; Reopened September 2025)
- Rockwood Library (Closed April 21, 2025; Reopened October 2025)
- Sellwood-Moreland Library (Closed June 6; Reopened November 2025)
- Hollywood Library (Last day open to the public: July 21; Reopening winter 2025/2026)
New features will include:
- Automated Materials Handling technology at many locations to help patrons get their materials faster
- Lower shelf heights to encourage safe spaces for staff and community members
- New furniture, carpet and paint to provide a comfortable, welcoming space
