Immigrants and citizenship

Your path to citizenship can begin at Multnomah County Library. Join us in a two-hour weekly class that runs for six weeks. This course will help you understand what it takes to become a citizen and develop the skills that will help you prepare for your interview. Do you need the most accurate information about the citizenship process or immigration reform? Check USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) for updates and study materials.

Just want to practice speaking English? We have free English classes. All levels welcome. No registration required.  Or come to one of our drop-in Talk Time sessions. These are casual gatherings — not classes — where English-speaking facilitators help participants start conversations. Or join in a Language Exchange, where participants speak half the time in English and half the time in Spanish or French.

Please call the library's adult literacy coordinator at 503.988.6318 for more information.
