Everybody Reads: An Oration Workshop with Toni Hill

Come explore the art of oration through storytelling, rhythm, and authentic expression. In this interactive workshop, Toni Hill guides participants through techniques in voice, speech writing and performance, helping build confidence, clarity, and connection.

About the Facilitator

Toni Hill is an Afro-Indigenous artist, educator, and spoken-word emcee rooted in Portland’s creative and activist community. A graduate of Portland State University, her work bridges music, social justice, and education. She has taught debate, oration, and performance through programs such as the Seattle Debate Foundation, Youth Speaks, Upward Bound, the New York Urban Debate League, and Columbia University’s Teachers College Debate Camps. Hill is a recipient of the Zora Neale Hurston Literary Award, the American Legion Award, and the Lilla Jewel Fund for Women Artists. Her work centers storytelling, empowerment, and creative access for underserved communities. Her focus is helping participants speak truth with power and purpose.
