Dedicated sensory friendly spaces are available at certain libraries for patrons with sensory needs. These rooms are designed to support self-regulation and decrease stress with calming interactive features. Multiple lighting options and furniture like tactile panels, popcorn tubes with beads flowing up and down, a fiber optic tunnel and more help create a welcoming environment.
Sensory rooms are available at the following locations:
- Midland Library
- Albina and East County libraries (coming soon)
For a complete list of the rules for use and access, see the sensory rooms policy.
