Summer Reading: Paletas Mexicanas / Mexican Popsicles

Cuando hace calor, no hay nada tan refrescante como una paleta. Aprenda a hacer tres paletas diferentes, dos a base de leche y una a base de agua. Una de las paletas cremosas será de fresa y la otra de mango. La tercera paleta será de agua de sandía.

Portland Insectarium is the city's first museum and zoo dedicated entirely to bugs! In this program there will be a selection of live bugs on display, such as tarantulas, mantises, and scorpions! Some are touchable bugs (roaches, isopods, millipedes), others preserved insect displays. Toys and other activities will be there to explore, plus experts to answer any questions! Suitable for all ages.

Students slide, slither and hop into herpetology, the science of reptiles. We'll get up close and personal with live snakes, lizards and turtles in order to study the features which make this class of animals unique. Discover that snakes are smooth and dry, lizards have no earlobes, and geckos can lick their eyeballs! Best for grades K-8 with a grownup for K-5.
