Nonfiction books from the teen collection for Transgender Awareness Week (November 13-19, 2025) and Transgender Day of Remembrance (November 20). Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) honors the memory of transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. Sci-fi for teens with loads of queer representation

Nobody does horror like us! The LGBTQIA2S+ community knows what it's like to be made to feel monstrous, which makes for some of the most compelling horror novels. This collection is primarily by queer authors, about queer characters, but I threw the original Carmilla in there too because it's a classic. There's also some nonfiction titles about queer identities and the horror genre, and a few films as well!

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20th that memorializes people whose lives were extinguished in acts of anti-transgender violence. One way to honor those who have been killed, and prevent more violence, is by learning what it is to be trans.

Rainbow Family Storytimes are offered monthly at various MCL locations, celebrating queer families in identity-supporting ways. Here are some of the favorite books we've shared!
