Multnomah County Library and your family

The library has materials for all ages and interests. Some library items were not created for children and teens. Parents and caregivers can decide what is right for their children. Please help your child choose library items that fit your values.

Library services include computer and internet access. Children 12 and under have filtered internet searching. Teens age 13-17 can choose filtered or unfiltered. You can change your child’s filtering option.

The library respects the privacy of all library users, no matter their age. You will need your child’s library card or card number to get account information, such as a list of the titles they have checked out.

How to keep track of library items

  • Keep library card numbers and passwords handy, for easy account access.
  • Get hold and overdue notices by email or text.
  • Keep library items in one place at your home, so they are easy to find.
