To start on these updates and provide time for staff to move out, Belmont Library will provide door service only from August 31 to September 6. During construction, a temporary location at 3557 SE Hawthorne Blvd will serve the community. This location, opening Monday, September 9, will offer limited services, including holds-pick up, Lucky Day items, 24/7 book returns and free mobile, wireless printing.

Gifts to The Library Foundation will support an interactive early learning space, a mobile creative learning lab, and a study space for teens at Belmont Library.
New features
Belmont Library is growing to support the community. Belmont Library will renovate the existing building, add an addition for a total of 15,000 square feet and include parking.
Based on community input, new features will include:
- A large play and learning space for children and families.
- Flexible meeting spaces for community use.
- A teen area with space for technology, homework and creative expression.
- Updated technology and internet.
- New art that represents the community.
Get a sneak peek at the new interior color at Belmont Library. The color was voted on by you, the community. Inspired by deep sky tones, this palette evokes a warm evening sunset. Orange and golden yellow tones shift into relaxed and calming blues.
Centering the community
As one of the busiest libraries in the county, community input will be central to the design process for Belmont. Outreach will focus on the needs of the neighborhood.
That’s why the library and design team will work with Community Design Advocates (CDAs) as part of a paid program. Their mission will be to connect with their communities about how this library can represent them. Community engagement will also include a series of public community events, focus groups, surveys and more. Sign up for updates.
