Library Bond Oversight Committee

On November 3, 2020, Multnomah County voters overwhelmingly said yes to libraries, approving Measure 26-211 to expand and modernize library spaces. With the passage of the library bond, voters also approved forming an oversight committee to keep the library accountable and transparent in its use of bond funds.

Build spreadsheet skills with the cloud-based, free software Google Sheets. This class, friendly to beginners with Google Accounts, allows an alternative to the Microsoft Excel class, while teaching many of the same skills. In this class, students become familiar with the user experience using Google Sheets, learn how to format cells, perform functions, and create graphs and tables.
Google Sheets Class Objectives:

  • Learn how to access Google Sheets.
  • Get started with an overview of available tools and functions.
  • Learn how to make and edit charts.
  • Understand how to use formula functions, like SUM and AVERAGE.
  • Recognize ways to use formulas and autofill.

Explore the potential of the free word processing software—Google Docs. This class (which requires students have a Google Account) introduces students to the formatting of Google Docs and allows students to explore the system of drop-down menus to format, create, and insert objects into a document. Unique to this class, which is in a Cloud based software environment, instruction demonstrates the downloading, uploading, and sharing of Doc files.
Google Docs Class Objectives:

  • Learn how to access Google Docs.
  • Understand the basic layout of Google Docs.
  • Explore the drop-down menu system.
  • Discover how to upload and download docs.
  • Review how to share docs.
