Learn about Google Drive with Goodwill Industries

Gain a greater understanding of the power and use cases for Cloud Storage through the lens of Google Drive. Building upon the Gmail class, the Google Drive class offers students an introduction to the integration of the Google ecosystem. Students will learn the benefits of using cloud storage, allowing them to further understand how to upload, create, and interact with file storage. This class also introduces students to Google Drive for Businesses, reviewing the differences between Shared Drives and cloud file sharing.

Google Drive Class Objectives:

  • Learn how to access a Google Drive account, the home page, and menu options.
  • Get started with uploading, creating, interacting, searching, and storing files.
  • Discover what makes Shared drives and “Shared with Me” drives different.
  • Review the differences between desktop and mobile versions.

Learn Gmail with Goodwill Industries

Learn to create, or better utilize, a Google Email (Gmail) account. This course offers students the opportunity to create an email account to assist in learning additional skills offered in our other Google Suite classes. The Gmail class will guide learners through the process of account creation and help them navigate the use of categories within their inbox, along with advanced features, such as creating professional signatures and utilizing filters and tools to enhance email productivity.
Gmail Class Objectives:

  • Learn how to setup, access, and interact with Gmail.
  • Get started choosing a professional email address, creating a secure password, and exploring other security features.
  • Explore settings options like creating a professional signature, labels, and filters.
  • Learn how to compose and send an email.
  • Review the differences between desktop and mobile versions.

Computer Basics works to assist those who haven’t ever opened a computer, while enhancing the knowledge of casual users on how to get the most from their time spent in front of the computer screen.

Computer Basics Class Objectives:
• Learn how to log onto a computer and use the desktop screen.
• Get started navigating the different types of computers and their components.
• Explore how to interact with computer programs and applications.

Open Mic and Jam Night

This free monthly event welcomes musicians, singers, poets, and creatives of all ages, styles, and skill levels. The evening kicks off with a performance by a local artist, followed by an open mic for individuals and bands to showcase their talents. The evening concludes with a jam session where all participants are invited to come together and create music collaboratively.


Mics, bass, guitars, keys, drums, and light percussion are provided for use by participants, or you can bring your own instrument. Whether you're a seasoned musician or just starting, this is an opportunity to share your love of music, meet new people, and be part of a vibrant community of artists. So come on down to the library, grab a mic, and let your creativity shine!
