Get free, individualized tax preparation assistance in Vietnamese, Cantonese and English provided by IRS Certified Volunteers in partnership with Vietnamese Community of Oregon (VNCO).

Children from birth to age 6 (with a favorite adult) enjoy books, songs, rhymes and movement activities while building language and literacy skills. Attendance is limited and free tickets are available 15 minutes before storytime.  

Multnomah County Library storytimes are supported by gifts made to The Library Foundation.

While our storytimes are on break, join other Rainbow families in a fun playtime at the library with books, toys, music, and all the room you need to learn through play in a positive, affirming environment. Join us for a 45 minutes walking tour through the building.  No registration required. 

Join us for a fun and imaginative LEGO building session. We'll provide the building blocks, you bring the creativity! Ideal for grades K-5, but younger and older siblings are welcome.

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. The dogs and handlers are from Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Dove Lewis Portland Area Canine Therapy Teams, Paws for Love, and Pet Partners®.

Families with children 0-6, you’re invited for an active half-hour of singing, dancing, and stories in English and Spanish. Attendance is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

Experience a mesmerizing performance of buraanbur, a Somali form of dance, music, and poetry performed by and for women. Come learn about beautiful buraanbur and Somali culture, from the local artist and educator, Amina Abdirahman. This event will be in Soomalli and English. It is appropriate for women.
