Lived to Tell: Stories from Genocide & Holocaust survivors

Sun Nov 10
2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Portland-based journalist Elizabeth Mehren will join Sankar Raman of The Immigrant Story to discuss her book, I Lived to Tell the World. Mehren's work shares the stories of 13 Oregonians who settled here after surviving atrocities around the globe.

Despite their arduous experiences, the stories convey a powerful message of hope. Cambodian genocide survivor Saron Khut, who was just 5 years old when his mother was sent into forced labor after his father was killed by the murderous forces of Pol Pot, will join in the conversation.

Made possible by The National Endowment for the Humanities Fund of The Library Foundation.
