Delta Park Powwow 50th Anniversary

The Indigenous team at the library focuses on connecting with the community. This is the first year the library is tabling at the Delta Park Powwow. The team will be giving away books, helping people get library cards, and creating a bridge between the Native community and the library.

Bright and modern Holgate Library is open!

The grand opening of the brand new Holgate Library is July 13! Holgate is the first new, permanent library to open in Multnomah County in more than a decade. It is also the most energy efficient library ever built in Multnomah County.

Tech help at the library

In one-on-one appointments, drop-in sessions, and in-person classes, library staff can help you learn to use technology— from computers and setting up email accounts to phones and e-readers. Tech help is available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese.

Slavic New Year at Multnomah County Library

Новый Год (Slavic New Year) is celebrated in over fifteen countries on December 31. At Multnomah County Library the word Slavic is added to the beginning of the phrase to acknowledge the distinct traditions of Russian-speaking countries.

Teens participate in designing new libraries

Since Multnomah County voters approved the Library Capital Bond in November 2020, the library has been hard at work with architecture firms to map out the design process for the construction and renovation of the Chapter One libraries. Throughout the process, the library and the firms have been meaningfully including teen voices with the help of two design programs.
