Pioneers of Portland Punk 1977-1984: Collins Gallery
No one in town knew what the rules really were -- until punks broke them all!
Portland was the birthplace of bands like The Wipers, Neo Boys, The Rat$, Poison Idea, and so many more. Experience Portland's DIY punk music scene (1977-1984) through photos, artifacts, memorabilia, original artwork, flyers, zines . . . and whatever else we dug out of our attics.
Curated by Fred "Noize" Seegmuller and Janice Morlan. Mark Sten, Research Consultant.

Talking About Race with Young Children (for parents)
Research shows that children recognize race and also develop racial biases by ages three to five. Because talking about race and racism with young children is important, this four week series for parents and caregivers will look at individual and systemic racism, intersectionality, and white fragility through group discussions, presentation, opportunities to practice, and homework assignments.
Registration is limited. This series is for parents and caregivers of children 3-6 years. A childcare provider series is offered in March.
Attendees will be contacted at their registration email with information about receiving session materials. Made possible by gifts to The Library Foundation.
