Microsoft PowerPoint with Goodwill Industries
Become familiar with the tools to create eye-catching presentations and impress potential employers with design capabilities. Students will be introduced to the basics of presentation creation and the tools within Microsoft PowerPoint to enhance the appeal of their visual aids. This course will allow students to experiment with the different aspects of presentation design and advise them on the principles of visual information enhancement.

- Learn how to interact with and access the application.
- Get started creating new presentations, adding elements, and changing slide styles.
- Explore advanced presentation features, like transitions and animations.

Enhance your professional competencies by beginning to utilize the capabilities possible with Microsoft Excel. Students will be introduced to critical Excel functions such as creating graphs and tables from data sets, becoming familiar with tools to sort and filter large data sets, and enhance the efficiency of their data entry. This course offers students a space to build a strong foundation for understanding a complex software program and the opportunity to explore potential applications for using Microsoft Excel.

Students will learn to navigate the tabs and ribbon within Word and understand how to use the tools that word processing software can provide to job seekers and employees in the workforce. This course provides a jumping off point into the multitude of software offered through Microsoft Office.

Computer Basics works to assist those who haven’t ever opened a computer, while enhancing the knowledge of casual users on how to get the most from their time spent in front of the computer screen.

Build spreadsheet skills with the cloud-based, free software Google Sheets. This class, friendly to beginners with Google Accounts, allows an alternative to the Microsoft Excel class, while teaching many of the same skills. In this class, students become familiar with the user experience using Google Sheets, learn how to format cells, perform functions, and create graphs and tables.

- Learn how to access Google Sheets.
- Get started with an overview of available tools and functions.
- Learn how to make and edit charts.
- Understand how to use formula functions, like SUM and AVERAGE.

Building upon the Gmail class, the Google Drive class offers students an introduction to the integration of the Google ecosystem. Students will learn the benefits of using cloud storage, allowing them to further understand how to upload, create, and interact with file storage. This class also introduces students to Google Drive for Businesses, reviewing the differences between Shared Drives and cloud file sharing.

A Midsummers' Movie Nights
Come beat the heat at Kenton Library and take in an early evening show. This series will take place every Monday from 5-7 p.m July 8th-August 12th, seating is available on a first come first serve basis. The titles selected for this series will be a wide ranging mix from art house comedies, international award winners, subversive political thrillers, surrealist classics and other off beat selections. Come cool off and have an experience, we look forward to seeing you!
