Learn Gmail with Goodwill Industries
Learn to create, or better utilize, a Google Email (Gmail) account. This course offers students the opportunity to create an email account to assist in learning additional skills offered in our other Google Suite classes. The Gmail class will guide learners through the process of account creation and help them navigate the use of categories within their inbox, along with advanced features, such as creating professional signatures and utilizing filters and tools to enhance email productivity.
Gmail Class Objectives:
- Learn how to setup, access, and interact with Gmail.
- Get started choosing a professional email address, creating a secure password, and exploring other security features.
- Explore settings options like creating a professional signature, labels, and filters.
- Learn how to compose and send an email.
- Review the differences between desktop and mobile versions.

Do you have one of the many smartphones and devices that run on Google’s Android operating system, like a Samsung or Motorola smartphone or a Chromebook? This class will show you how to get started with your Android device. You’ll learn to:
- Navigate around your device
- Find and control all of your settings
- Find and use apps
- Take pictures, send text messages, and use the internet

Learn about Google Sheets with Goodwill Industries
Build spreadsheet skills with the cloud-based, free software Google Sheets. This class, friendly to beginners with Google Accounts, allows an alternative to the Microsoft Excel class, while teaching many of the same skills. In this class, students become familiar with the user experience using Google Sheets, learn how to format cells, perform functions, and create graphs and tables.
Google Sheets Class Objectives:
- Learn how to access Google Sheets.
- Get started with an overview of available tools and functions.
- Learn how to make and edit charts.
- Understand how to use formula functions, like SUM and AVERAGE.
- Recognize ways to use formulas and autofill.

Become comfortable utilizing the video software Google Meet. Commonly used in interview settings and work meetings, this class prepares students for using video call software in professional settings. In this class students will learn how to create or join a call, video call etiquette, and the different settings and control options on Google Meet.

- Get started with the meeting space settings and options.
- Explore the Host menus and meeting controls.
- Discover the differences between desktop and mobile versions.

Learn about Google Drive with Goodwill Industries
Gain a greater understanding of the power and use cases for Cloud Storage through the lens of Google Drive. Building upon the Gmail class, the Google Drive class offers students an introduction to the integration of the Google ecosystem. Students will learn the benefits of using cloud storage, allowing them to further understand how to upload, create, and interact with file storage. This class also introduces students to Google Drive for Businesses, reviewing the differences between Shared Drives and cloud file sharing.

Come beat the heat at Kenton Library and take in an early evening show. This series will take place every Monday from 5-7 p.m July 8th-August 12th, seating is available on a first come first serve basis. The titles selected for this series will be a wide ranging mix from art house comedies, international award winners, subversive political thrillers, surrealist classics and other off beat selections. Come cool off and have an experience, we look forward to seeing you!
