Welcome to an exciting journey into the vibrant world of Nico, the banana slug, and his adventure in Forest Park! In this interactive program, children will not only immerse themselves in the charming story of Nico written by Joeanally Gonzalez but also bring the characters to life through a creative puppet workshop. We will talk about Forest Park's ecosystem and the importance of taking care of it.

Join us as we create magical seed bombs that you can take home and throw in your yard. Watch the magic unfold as your seeds sprout and bring life to your space. To add even more fun to our journey, we'll read the book 'My Friend Earth' by Patricia MacLachlan. It's a story that will make you fall in love with our incredible planet even more. Come join Joeanally Gonzales in this hands-on, nature-loving experience.

To attend this program, you need to have basic computer skills and know how to use a computer with a mouse. If you are new to computers, entry-level computer classes and one-on-one assistance are available at the library.

Kids will love making noise with Kids Junk Orchestra! Through the use of non-conventional items such as buckets and recycled items, youth learn how to create various sounds and rhythms. This class focuses on group cooperation, basic rhythm drumming skills, team building, specialized drumming instruction and a safe environment to perform musically. This event is first-come, first-serve.

This Safety Side Up course provides discussion, activities and hands-on practice to increase your confidence and give you the skills you need to be the best babysitter possible, including, safely find and prepare for a babysitting job, care for kids of all ages and deal with difficult situations, prepare safe and fun activities, making safe choices and basic first aid.

Lunch is provided.

Create colorful paintings of trees and woodlands with Jess Graff. Learn basic techniques for capturing light, mixing color, and mapping out unique artwork. All skill levels welcome.

Teens grades 6 through 12 are welcome to join teen librarian Chloë for an afternoon of creative exploration in the large conference room at Gresham. The Rockwood makerspace will be bringing a small collection of creative tools — make a vinyl sticker, sew a pillow, play with electronics. It’s your choice! What is STEAM? It stands for Science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. STEAM programs for youth and teens provide a strong foundation for future success!

Culturally relevant and identity-supporting "crafternoon" where adults who identify as Two-Spirit/LGBTQ+ can make pride bling with medallions, posters, flags, and learn more about local Two-Spirit resources.

Culturally relevant and identity-supporting craft time for teens who identify as Two-Spirit/LGBTQ+ and their allies. Come enjoy some 2S/Indigequeer culture and make a hard copy of your favorite fan fic (fan fiction). While these publications are typically online/digital only, learn how to make a copy of your own “book”, with your own cover art and illustrations.
