Anatomy of a Poem for Youth
Petals and Thorns Poetry Workshop: Anatomy of a Poem, is a workshop that was created for novice and seasoned writers and poets who are interested in exploring the craft of poetry. No need to have been an English major or a paid author, to declare yourself a poet! Come be in community, get those thoughts out and share your love of expression! During the workshop, participants will take a deeper look at literary devices/tools and artistic choices used to craft poetry. Participants will be given time to begin their own poem, using topics discussed in class as writing prompts.

Make your garden even more beautiful by creating handmade garden ornaments. Artist Kathy Karbo will show you how to use hammers, anvils and other tools to create these decorative pieces.
Build Your Garden with a Spring Plant Box
Create your own plant box for spring flowers or personal items using wooden craft sticks. Then decorate it with animals, flowers and more.
Handmade Poetry Journal (Teens & Adults)
Create a beautiful hand-sewn book, perfect for a journal, poetry or sketches. Join artist Kathy Karbo to work with beautiful papers and threads; gain experience with books arts tools and embellish your book with found objects and trinkets and treasures.
Bugs, Bones and Botany
Explore and observe natural specimens to create detailed nature-based artworks, including animal skulls, insect specimens, plant materials and other natural materials. Work in pencil, pen, ink and watercolor on high-quality printmaking paper. This activity is open to any skill level.
