Research shows that children recognize race and also develop racial biases by ages three to five. Because talking about race and racism with young children is important, this four week series for parents and caregivers will look at individual and systemic racism, intersectionality, and white fragility through group discussions, presentation, opportunities to practice, and homework assignments.

Registration is limited. This series is for parents and caregivers of children 3-6 years. A childcare provider series is offered in March.

Attendees will be contacted at their registration email with information about receiving session materials. Made possible by gifts to The Library Foundation.

Tue Feb 27
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Online

Virtual Tutoring is for students in grades K-12 who need support in language arts, math, science or social studies.

We offer three terms a year, each running for 8 weeks.

The student’s weekly appointment will be for 30 minutes on Tuesdays, sometime between 4 and 6 pm. They will be assigned an exact timeslot and tutor prior to the start of the term. These remain the same for the entire term.

Our tutors are limited and we cannot guarantee a spot. You can register here and someone will be in touch with more information. If you have further questions, please contact the program coordinator, Jackie Partch, at jacquelp@multcolib.org or text to 971.500.1733. Library virtual programs are a public space. We try to keep these spaces as safe as possible. Participants may be asked to identify themselves either through camera, chat, or by unmuting. This program is intended for children and teens. If you would like to attend as an observer, please contact us at 503.988.5123.
