Juneteenth: Freedom Wings Craft
This Juneteenth, freedom rings in the air! Come join us at Capitol Hill for Freedom Fridays!
Today, we'll do a fun filled craft, making wings to help you soar through the world. In this craft children will decorate wings while learning about the history of Juneteenth.
Lego Club
Join us for a fun and imaginative LEGO building session. We'll provide the building blocks, you bring the creativity! Ideal for grades K-5, but younger and older siblings are welcome.
Tween Council
Help your librarian choose the best books, movies, comics, programs and events for you and your friends. Have fun working on special projects, making new friends, and creating the perfect library for you! This is a volunteer position and snacks will be provided. For kids ages 9-12.
Jewelry Design for Adults
Stretch your creative muscles as you design and create jewelry for yourself or loved ones.
High-quality materials, techniques for tool usage, and design strategies will be covered. This fun and engaging workshop is perfect for beginners, but all experience levels are welcome. With instructor Jess Graff.

Enjoy songs, rhymes, rhythm and dance in this active program for children ages 0 to 6 and their parents or caregivers.

We meet two times a month at the Rockwood Library Makerspace to watch anime, discuss our favorite series, and eat yummy snacks. Juneteenth: Collages of Freedom - Honoring Our Ancestors
Join us for a special program commemorating Juneteenth, where we'll explore the history of our heritage through the art of collage. Through the creative process, we'll reflect on the many instances through American history where Black people fought for the rights, justice and freedoms that many Americans enjoy today but that are still often denied to the majority of Black Americans .

Bugs, Bones and Botany
Explore and observe natural specimens to create detailed nature-based artworks, including animal skulls, insect specimens, plant materials and other natural materials. Work in pencil, pen, ink and watercolor on high-quality printmaking paper. This activity is open to any skill level.
Read to the Dogs
Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. The dogs and handlers are from Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Dove Lewis Portland Area Canine Therapy Teams and Pet Partners®. Call 503.988.5123 to register.
