Teens and Tweens are invited to attend special craft afternoons at the library! All supplies are provided and it's free! For ages 9-18. 

Join us for teen council. It’s a fun way to make new friends, earn volunteer hours by helping your library and your community — AND get free snacks!

Join us for a 45 minutes walking tour through the building.  No registration required.

Step into the world of beats, rhythms, and melodies as you learn what it means to be a DJ. Whether you're a music enthusiast eager to learn the art of mixing or a curious individual intrigued by the world of electronic music, this program offers an immersive and hands-on introduction to the craft of DJing.

Are you a high school student unsure about what to pursue in college? Are you struggling with what to write for your college application? This workshop will provide you with the tools to craft your college essay! This will set you on the right path toward applying for your top school. Led by Andrew Petrillo, an ICF-certified coach, this engaging session will guide you through the process with clarity and direction.

 Work on the DIY craft of the week, or do your own thing with our location's craft materials! Sew, paint, glue, make, design; the sky's your limit! Learn alongside others, share your knowledge and explore new ways of making things!

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, come join the fun as we learn together. All experience levels and ages welcome. Please bring your own supplies. 

What will you create? Bring your ideas and make them a reality with 3D printers, craft cutters, laser cutter, sewing machines, art supplies and more.

For teens in grades 6-12.

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. The dogs and handlers are from Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Dove Lewis Portland Area Canine Therapy Teams and Pet Partners®. For kids and teens. Call 503.988.5123 to register.

Virtual Tutoring is for Multnomah County students in grades K-12 who need support in language arts, math, science or social studies. 

We offer three terms a year, each running for 8 weeks.

The student’s weekly appointment will be for 30 minutes on Tuesdays, sometime between 4 and 6 pm. They will be assigned an exact timeslot and tutor prior to the start of the term. These remain the same for the entire term.

A safe place where ALL are welcome to be themselves. Find support, eat snacks, get creative, discuss favorite books, and more! Bring a friend, or make a new one. For grades 5-8.

Queer Youth Club is a youth-run club for that unites LGBTQIA+ and allied youth from neighboring schools. Email alecc@multcolib.org for more information.

Middle school students are invited to talk about comics and eat snacks! Every meeting includes a short activity related to this month's book. A limited number of books are available for pick up at the library.    

Music Discovery is an open lab format that provides community members access to library equipment for learning about digital and analog music creation. Whether you're interested in Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) or ukuleles, you're welcome to play, demo equipment, and ask our knowledgeable staff questions about creating your own music and collaborating with others. We hope to see you there!
