Learn about sun printing techniques and products while creating your own personalized sun-printed artwork, weather permitting. Take-home kits with instructions will be provided if the weather is not cooperative.

Explore various techniques used by African/Black artists, while incorporating your own style, led by artist Auzurea Caples.

Registration is required.

Come learn how to make your own beaded bracelet, try free-style painting, and enjoy the experience of henna. Make connections with the community in Capitol Hill! All ages are welcome to this first-come, first-served event.

Ofrecemos actividades que promueven la alfabetización temprana, leyendo libros, cantando, jugando y haciendo manualidades. Los padres de familia, hermanos mayores de 6 años y cuidadores son bienvenidos. Este programa se presenta en español.

La asistencia es limitada y hay entradas gratuitas disponibles 15 minutos antes de la hora de cuentos.  

Practice your new reading skills! Each week you'll listen to a story, practice reading with a teen volunteer. This program is especially for kindergartners to second graders. Register here.

Children from birth to age 6 (with a favorite adult) enjoy books highlighting LGBTQ+ families, along with songs, rhymes and movement activities building language, literacy, and community in an identity-supporting environment.

Portland was the birthplace of bands like The Wipers, Neo Boys, The Rat$, Poison Idea, and so many more. Experience Portland's DIY punk music scene (1977-1984) through photos, artifacts, memorabilia, original artwork, flyers, zines . . . and whatever else we dug out of our attics.

This workshop covers how to craft music on the digital audio workstation Ableton Live. Discover the fundamentals as we delve into beat-making, sound design and arranging tracks. Learn how to manipulate samples, utilize MIDI instruments and employ effects to shape your unique sound.
