The Jefferson Dancers, the esteemed performing company of Jefferson High School-Middle College for Advanced Studies in the Portland Public School District, are now in their 49th year. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Steve Gonzales, a former Jefferson Dancer with a distinguished career in performance, choreography, and teaching, the company continues to thrive. Comprising 18 dedicated dancers, the company balances full-time high school attendance with daily classes and rehearsals. Their training spans a variety of dance styles, including African, hip-hop, tap, jazz, modern, and classical ballet.
