Teens are invited to come work on crafts! Materials provided!
Work on the DIY craft of the week, or do your own thing with our location's craft materials! Sew, paint, glue, make, design; the sky's your limit! Learn alongside others, share your knowledge and explore new ways of making things!

Free Create with a Bambu 3D Printer
Already have experience with the library's Bambu 3D printers? Register for this session to use a 3D printer and get help from staff on creating a project of your choice (subject to time limits). A selection of colors of PLA will be available for you to use.
Space is limited and registration is required. Registration opens November 26.

Calling all teens in grades 6-12! Come make something cool, learn a new skill, and meet friendly people in this teen-focused creative space. Makerspace staff and volunteers will teach you how to use our tech equipment to design things and express yourself. Project examples include 3D printers, craft cutters, sewing machines, custom t shirts and tote bags, tons of art supplies for painting, jewelry making, and more.

Join us for a fun and imaginative LEGO building session. We'll provide the building blocks, you bring the creativity! Ideal for grades K-5, but younger and older siblings are welcome.

Imagination Builders: Create Your Own World with Joeanally G
Embark on a STEAM-powered adventure where kids design characters and build their own imaginative worlds! Using materials like wood pieces, cardboard, fabric, and more, participants will explore creativity and design principles while crafting unique characters and environments inspired by games like Minecraft or Pokémon.

Creative Learning: Intro to Laser Cutting with the Glowforge
Learn to design an acrylic keychain in the Glowforge web app, prepare your project for production, and send your creation to the laser cutter! All materials will be provided.

Mini Worlds for Kids with Tinker Camp
You’re an explorer and anthropologist and discover a miniature world that everyone else thought was only imaginary. Create a model of your teeny, tiny world so everyone can see with Tinker Camp, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting STEAM education in your community. Use cool materials and tools to design and build a small scale version of whatever you discovered. Tiny rooms in a teeny house? A pint-sized playground? A miniature amusement park?
BUGS!
Portland Insectarium is the city's first museum and zoo dedicated entirely to bugs! In this program there will be a selection of live bugs on display, such as tarantulas, mantises, and scorpions! Some are touchable bugs (roaches, isopods, millipedes), others preserved insect displays. Toys and other activities will be there to explore, plus experts to answer any questions! Suitable for all ages.

Scales, Claws, and Expanding Jaws with OMSI
Students slide, slither and hop into herpetology, the science of reptiles. We'll get up close and personal with live snakes, lizards and turtles in order to study the features which make this class of animals unique. Discover that snakes are smooth and dry, lizards have no earlobes, and geckos can lick their eyeballs!
