Join us for a live storytime with fun books, songs, rhymes, and more!  Attendance is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

The Black, African, and African American experience comes alive for children from birth to age 6 (with their favorite adult/family members). Have fun with books and stories, songs, and movement activities in a positive and affirming online environment. Black Storytime builds language and literacy skills your child needs to be ready for kindergarten.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, come join the fun as we learn together. All experience levels and ages welcome! Please bring your own supplies.

Children ages birth to 6 along with their families, elders, aunties and uncles are welcome for songs and stories celebrating Native cultures and building language and literacy skills. Presented by Native library staff. Attendance is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.   

Join us for a fun and imaginative LEGO building session. We'll provide the building blocks, you bring the creativity! Ideal for grades K-5, but younger and older siblings are welcome.  

Virtual Tutoring is for Multnomah County students in grades K-12 who need support in language arts, math, science or social studies. 

We offer three terms a year, each running for 8 weeks.

The student’s weekly appointment will be for 30 minutes on Tuesdays, sometime between 4 and 6 pm. They will be assigned an exact timeslot and tutor prior to the start of the term. These remain the same for the entire term.

Do you like to game? Are you in middle or high school? If so, join our game night the first Tuesday of every month! We'll play video games and board games, talk about games, and eat snacks.

Kids in grades 4-5 are invited to talk about graphic novels and eat snacks!  Every meeting includes a short activity related to this month's book. A limited number of books are available for pick up at the library.     

Únase a un programa bilingüe presentado por Corazón Utilitary Handcraft. Podrá pintar ajolotes de arcilla hechas a mano y conocer las artes mexicanas y su influencia en las culturas latinas. Reúnase con la comunidad para celebrar el rol del arte como práctica terapéutica.

Do you have knitting and/or crocheting projects that you’d love to get finished? Or new ones you want to start? Please join us on Tuesdays for yarn work and fun! All ages and abilities welcome.

Every participant (child, teen, or adult) must sign up in advance to reserve a spot. No library card required. All materials are provided. Registration opens three weeks in advance.

What will you create? Bring your ideas and make them a reality! Join us at the Rockwood Library makerspace to make something cool, learn a new skill, and meet friendly people.

¡Venga a disfrutar una noche familiar con el juego tradicional mexicano, Lotería! Habrá premios y mucha diversión. Come enjoy a family night at the library playing the traditional Mexican Bingo game, Lotería! We’ll have prizes and lots of fun.

Get active, get healthy, get fit — all while line dancing, exercising and having fun! Line dance: Move to the beat, feel the energy, and get your steps in without even realizing it! Sistahs4Life brings soulful line dancing all over the Portland metro area. This class is suited for beginners and still fun for those with more experience.

Ofrecemos actividades que promueven la alfabetización temprana, leyendo libros, cantando, y jugando. La Hora de Cuentos virtual está diseñada para niños de edad preescolar y sus cuidadores. El programa es presentado en español y es transmitido a través de Zoom.
