Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, come join the fun as we learn together. All experience levels and ages welcome. Please bring your own supplies.

Let's spend time with friends, reading and talking about fantastic books! For kids in kindergarten to second grade.

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. For kids and teens. Appointments are on a first come, first served basis.

Virtual Tutoring is for Multnomah County students in grades K-12 who need support in language arts, math, science or social studies. 

We offer three terms a year, each running for 8 weeks.

The student’s weekly appointment will be for 30 minutes on Tuesdays, sometime between 4 and 6 pm. They will be assigned an exact timeslot and tutor prior to the start of the term. These remain the same for the entire term.

Do you have knitting and/or crocheting projects that you’d love to get finished? Or new ones you want to start? Please join us for this social group on Tuesdays for yarn work and fun! Intermediate and more advanced crafters are welcome.

Children from birth to age 6 (with a favorite adult) enjoy books highlighting LGBTQ+ families, along with songs, rhymes and movement activities building language, literacy, and community in an identity-supporting environment.

Play and learning go hand in hand. Join other LGBTQ+ and ally families in a fun playtime at the library with books, toys, music, and all the room you need to learn through play. As Mr. Rogers said, "... for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood."

Join us for a 45 minute walking tour through the building. We will meet near the Central stair. Registration required.

The African and African American experience comes alive for children from birth to age 6 (with their favorite adult/family members). Have fun with books and stories, songs, and movement activities in a positive and affirming environment. Black Storytime builds language and literacy skills your child needs to be ready for kindergarten. Attendance is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

This preschool storytime is especially welcoming for children and families who are looking for a more adaptive virtual storytime experience.
