Join us for a live storytime with fun books, songs, rhymes, and more!  Attendance is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

The Black, African, and African American experience comes alive for children from birth to age 6 (with their favorite adult/family members). Have fun with books and stories, songs, and movement activities in a positive and affirming online environment. Black Storytime builds language and literacy skills your child needs to be ready for kindergarten.

Play and learning go hand in hand. While our storytimes are on break, join other families for a fun playtime (for ages birth - 1) with board books, toys, music, and all the room your baby needs to learn through play. As Mr. Rogers said, "... for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood."

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, come join the fun as we learn together. All experience levels and ages welcome! Please bring your own supplies.

Join us for a fun and imaginative LEGO building session. We'll provide the building blocks, you bring the creativity! Ideal for grades K-5, but younger and older siblings are welcome.  

Crocheted granny squares have a long history and can be used to make many things. In this class you will learn how to make a basic granny square. Project ideas for using these and where to find other patterns will be shared too. 

Materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own.

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. The dogs and handlers are from Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Dove Lewis Portland Area Canine Therapy Teams, Paws for Love, and Pet Partners®.

Kids in grades 4-5 are invited to talk about graphic novels and eat snacks!  Every meeting includes a short activity related to this month's book. A limited number of books are available for pick up at the library.

Do you have knitting and/or crocheting projects that you’d love to get finished? Or new ones you want to start? Please join us on Tuesdays for yarn work and fun! All ages and abilities welcome.

This free event welcomes musicians, poets, comedians, dancers and creatives of all ages, styles, and skill levels. The evening kicks off with a performance by a local artist, followed by an open mic for individuals and bands to showcase their talents. The evening concludes with a jam session where all participants are invited to come together and create  collaboratively. Come to take the stage, or just sit back and enjoy the show!

Children ages birth to 6 along with their families and friends are welcome to enjoy Native culture through singing, movement, crafts, and stories. Everyone is welcome! Presented by Native library staff. Attendance is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

Come sing, listen, learn and celebrate. Join Karen Kitchen (Osage Nation) for this story hour featuring songs and books from Native cultures. Children, families, elders, aunties and uncles — everyone is welcome. Note there are also in person events with Karen, but this one is online!

This preschool storytime is especially welcoming for children and families who are looking for a more adaptive virtual storytime experience.

This program is intended for children and their caregivers. Participants may be asked to identify themselves either through camera, chat, or by unmuting. If you would like to attend as an observer, please contact us at 503.988.5123.
