Multnomah County Library is breaking ground on one of its exciting new buildings. Northwest Library is moving to a new location, going from a leased space at 2300 NW Thurman to 2030 NW Pettygrove Street. This new location will be around 11,000 square feet, more than twice the size of the current building at 4,700 square feet.

The new location will be around 11,000 square feet, more than twice the size of the current building at 4,700 square feet. The current Northwest Library will stay open during construction to keep serving the community.

Rockwood Library closing for refresh

The last day Rockwood Library is open to the public is April 21. It’s scheduled to reopen after construction in fall 2025. Rockwood is one of 11 libraries receiving small but essential refreshes to provide a safe, modern and welcoming space for our patrons. Similar library refreshes have taken about four months to complete.
