Summer Reading: Henna for Teens with Kaniz Shah
Step into the colorful world of henna temporary body art — a very old tradition practiced across South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. First we'll learn about the history and culture of henna art. Next there will be a demonstration for how to mix natural henna into a paste. Once we've learned how to make beginner-friendly designs, we'll apply the henna to our own hands.

Learn the beautiful art of henna in this fun, hands-on workshop for beginners. You will practice drawing traditional patterns and learn how to apply the paste to skin safely. By the end of the session, you will have the skills to create your own stunning temporary designs at home.

Come explore the amazing world of reptiles with the Oregon Reptile Man, Rich Ritchey. Rich presents 15 live reptiles one at a time, and teaches about each! You might even be asked to hold the kid-friendly animals. There will be large lizards, large boa and/or python, an alligator, large tortoise, large snapping turtle, a de-venomized cobra and viper, and several other reptiles. Best for ages 5 to adult.
Summer Reading: Prehistoric Life in a Changing World
Join The Fossil Team and travel back in time to explore a world long ago. Though different in age, animals had similar challenges! Examine prehistoric fossils and modern animal bones. Discover how animals adapted, competed, and survived in changing environments!

Summer Reading: Family Circus Workshop with Circus Cascadia
Families are invited to try circus skills together, led by experienced instructors from Circus Cascadia. The goal of a family circus workshop is to get parents and children playing together! It can include tightrope, walking globe, juggling scarves, flowersticks and other circus equipment. The workshop can begin with a scarf circle as a whole group, followed by a more freeform structure of guided exploration and play.

Summer Reading: Spa-Day Gifts for Teens
Learn about herbs and essential oils that soothe and relax the body, mind and soul. We will make bath bombs, a soothing muscle soak for the bath, and a rejuvenating scrub. This program is for teens.
