The Library Writers Project

Submissions have closed for this round.

Every year, Multnomah County Library places a call for submissions from local authors who would like to see their books added to the library’s e-book collection.

The library accepts works of fiction and memoir for adults, teens, and children. In order to be considered, authors must publish their works on one of the following self publishing sites* for free and fill out our submission form, including their library card number:

Kobo Writing Life

Each book is reviewed independently by two library staff members with a wide range of reading interests.

After library staff review submissions, the best ones are added to the library’s e-book collection on the OverDrive platform, visited by over 8,000 MCL patrons every single day.

The library has partnered with Ooligan Press to publish past Library Writers Project selections The Gifts We Keep by Katie Grindeland, Iditarod Nights by Cindy HidayFinding the Vein by Jennifer Hanlon Wilde and Court of Venom by Kristin Burchell in print.
