Reading and Writing Solitude

Join a panel of scholars for a conversation about the place of solitude in our lives. What is solitude? How does it manifest itself? How is solitude related to writing and reading? We will discuss the book Solitude: Apocryphal Posts from Distant Archives by Djelal Kadir. 

Members of the panel include:

  • Hugo Moreno, Professor of Spanish, Lewis & Clark College  
  • Amy Baskin, Departments of English and History, Lewis & Clark College  
  • Elizabeth Drumm, Professor of Spanish and Humanities, Reed College 
  • Walter Englert, Professor of Classical Studies, Emeritus, Reed College
