Join us at the Rockwood Makerspace to learn how to create beautiful wooden lanterns to celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival. All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary! The library will provide the supplies and materials for lantern making -- note that there is a limit of two lanterns per family. Vietnamese and English language support will be available. Registration opens on Sept. 1.

Join Portland All Nations Canoe Family and the library's Indigenous team for a joyful community celebration! Learn about Native canoe traditions and practices in community, enjoy light snacks, and craft something to take home with you.

Stones, Bones and Blacked-Eyed Peas presents: The historical and cultural significance of black eyed peas. Join chef and owner of Finer Things Events and Catering, Michelle Guinn, along with her daughter, Sable Askew and take a trip back into history. Enjoy a cooking demonstration using traditional foods and recipes cooked by African Americans from the time of slavery, and explore their many modern interpretations.
