Come visit the library for a Kwanzaa drumming circle experience!

The African and African American experience comes alive for children from birth to age 6 (with their favorite adult/family members). Have fun with books and stories, songs, and movement activities in a positive and affirming environment. Black Storytime builds language and literacy skills your child needs to be ready for kindergarten. Attendance is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

Join Brian Parham of Rock Dojo for a live rock concert followed by a guitar workshop for kids! This workshop features 30 minutes of original rock & metal music specially tailored for kids, featuring engaging lyrics and catchy tunes. After the concert, we will provide a hands-on guitar workshop for the kids and their parents. We bring the guitars!

Stones, Bones and Blacked-Eyed Peas presents: The historical and cultural significance of black eyed peas. Join chef and owner of Finer Things Events & Catering, Michelle Guinn, along with her daughter, Sable Askew and take a trip back into history. Enjoy a cooking demonstration using traditional foods and recipes cooked by African Americans from the time of slavery, and explore their many modern interpretations.
