Mahjong at the Library
Come play American Mahjong at the library and connect with community! Experienced players welcome are invited to join our fun and friendly group. Be sure to bring your current National Mah Jongg League cards.
Creative Learning: Intro to Laser Cutting with the Glowforge
Learn to design an acrylic keychain in the Glowforge web app, prepare your project for production, and send your creation to the laser cutter! All materials will be provided.
Space is limited and registration is required. Registration opens June 1.

A Good Yarn Knitting & Crochet Group
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, come join the fun as we learn together. All experience levels and ages welcome. Please bring your own supplies.
Read to the Dogs
Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. For kids and teens.
Fiber Friends: Knit & Crochet Tweens & Teens Beginners Class
Tweens and teens are invited to learn to knit, crochet, or both! Make a small craft while learning about basic stitches, terminology, how to pick a needle and more. All materials and supplies are provided. Ideal for teens and tweens (ages 9-18).
Teen Anime Club
View, review, snack and yak about all things anime and manga. We meet the fourth Tuesday of the month to discuss our favorite series, choose something to read or watch together, do some art, and eat snacks!
Creative Learning: Bambu 3D Printer
Use a 3D printer and get help from staff on creating a project of your choice (subject to time limits). No experience necessary! A selection of colors of PLA will be available for you to use.

Queer Youth Club
A safe place where ALL are welcome to be themselves. Find support, eat snacks, get creative, discuss favorite books, and more! Bring a friend, or make a new one. For grades 5-8.

Test your video game skills in a friendly, high-energy competition. A different game will be selected each month. Sign-ups start 30 minutes before the event.
Knotty Knitters / Crafty Crocheters
Do you have knitting and/or crocheting projects that you’d love to get finished? Or new ones you want to start? Please join us for this social group on Tuesdays for yarn work and fun! Intermediate and more advanced crafters are welcome.
Intro to Beatmaking: Using Ableton Live production software
Learn the very basics of making beats on the computer and creating your very own songs. No experience is required and all skill levels are welcomed to attend this fun and creative class. All equipment will be provided by Multnomah County Library.
Family Maker Time

Babysitter Training with Safety Side Up
This Safety Side Up course provides discussion, activities and hands-on practice to increase your confidence and give you the skills you need to be the best babysitter possible. This includes safely finding and preparing for a babysitting job, caring for kids of all ages.
Chamber Music Northwest Pop-Up Recital
Students from Chamber Music Northwest's Young Artist Institute will be performing short "pop-up" performances all around Portland! They will be visiting the Central Library at 1:00pm on June 24th to perform a 30 minute recital featuring music for solo strings.
Creative Learning: Glowforge Laser Cutter
Use a Glowforge laser cutter to engrave and cut designs out of acrylic or wood, with assistance from staff and volunteers. No experience needed! A selection of laser-safe materials will be available for you to use.

Teen drop-in: Get creative at the makerspace!
Calling all teens in grades 6-12! Come make something cool, learn a new skill, and meet friendly people in this teen-focused creative space. Makerspace staff and volunteers will teach you how to use our tech equipment to design things and express yourself. Project examples include 3D printers, craft cutters, sewing machines, custom t shirts and tote bags, tons of art supplies for painting, jewelry making, and more.
