What will you create? Bring your ideas and make them a reality with 3D printers, craft cutters, laser cutter, sewing machines, art supplies and more.
For teens in grades 6-12.
Laser engrave a custom phone stand
Decorate and engrave a custom wooden phone stand using a laser cutter. All materials will be provided.
To attend this program, you need to have basic computer skills and know how to use a computer with a mouse. Children in grades 5 and under must be accompanied by an attentive teen or adult.
Space is limited and registration is required. Registration opens on October 31.

Teen Council
Teens (Grades 6-12) are invited to help with Gresham Library projects, and possibly develop library projects and events of their own! Teen Council is a volunteer opportunity for up to 3 hours a month, and a chance to gain social skills and leadership experience!
Because our regularly scheduled Teen Council date fell on a date we are closed (Nov. 28) this Teen Council meeting has been rescheduled a week early!
Queer Youth Club
A safe place where ALL youth are welcome to be themselves. Find support, eat snacks, get creative, discuss favorite books, play games and more! Bring a friend, or make a new one. All youth welcome.

Native American Heritage Month: Beading Earrings, 1 and 2
Learn how to create brick stitch & fringe style beaded earrings using seed beads, thread and a beading needle in this two-part class. Natalie Mitchell will briefly discuss the history of seed beads in the Native American community and there uses in regalia, jewelry and art.
Registration required. This is a two-part class. Registration opens on 11/1/24.
Read to the Dogs
Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. The dogs and handlers are from Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Dove Lewis Portland Area Canine Therapy Teams and Pet Partners®. For kids and teens. Call 503.988.5123 to register.

The Super Powers of Bats!
What if Bruce Wayne had been bitten by a radioactive bat? Is Robin really the perfect partner for the caped crusader? The folks from popular podcast Bugs Need Heroes will bring their comic book convention presentation to the library. They'll share the amazing adaptations of the only flying mammals, bust bat myths, and discuss the real life gadgets used to study bat biology.
Sewing a Zipper Pouch for Teens
In this three hour course, participants will learn how to sew a zipper pouch from a professional fashion instructor. Skills covered: how to thread a sewing machine, perform a basic straight stitch, and sew a zipper into a pouch. Participants can select from a variety of sizes and shapes. All materials will be provided. Grades 6-12.
Animation Workshop with Quandre
Come learn animation with visual and musical artist Quandre using Procreate Dream. Learn the fundamentals of animation and bring your artwork to life. Through hands-on projects, expert guidance from Quandre, and collaborative learning, you'll gain the confidence to create expressive animations, captivating stories, and dynamic visual narratives.
