Central Library, beloved by the community since 1913, is now open with modern enhancements for you to enjoy!  

Join us for a 45 minutes walking tour through the building.  No registration required. 

Every participant (child, teen, or adult) must sign up in advance to reserve a spot. No library card required. All materials are provided. Registration opens three weeks in advance.

What will you create? Bring your ideas and make them a reality! Join us at the Rockwood Library makerspace to make something cool, learn a new skill, and meet friendly people.

Dive into all things zine with Outlet PDX! In this workshop we’ll explore the history and different types of zines. We'll also talk about where to find and share them along with different zine formats. We’ll also spend some time actually DEFINING what a zine is for those who are new to this amazing medium! We'll give tons of prompts, tips, and inspiration so you can take ideas and turn them into a tangible lovely THING.

Gather your team of 2-4 for an exciting puzzle race! Compete against the clock and other teams to be the first to complete a 500-piece puzzle in under two hours. The fastest team wins a trophy and ultimate bragging rights!

This introductory course is designed for absolute beginners and those looking to move beyond automatic camera settings. Participants will learn the fundamental technical and creative principles that underpin great photography. Over the the course, we will demystify the core functions of a camera and explore how to use light, composition, and exposure controls to capture compelling images.

Bring your crafts and friends and join us! Crafty Crew is a community of crafters who share a love of creating using a variety of mediums. Join them in knitting, crochet, beading, embroidery, collage, ceramics and more!

Come play American Mahjong at the library and connect with community! Experienced players are invited to join our fun and friendly group. Be sure to bring your current National Mah Jongg League cards. 

Learn to prepare an existing model for 3D printing on one of the library's Bambu X1 Carbon printers, then start experimenting with 3D modeling. All materials will be provided.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, come join the fun as we learn together. All experience levels and ages welcome! Please bring your own supplies.

Calling all teens in grades 6-12! Come make something cool, learn a new skill, and meet friendly people in this teen-focused creative space. Makerspace staff and volunteers will teach you how to use our tech equipment to design things and express yourself. Project examples include 3D printers, craft cutters, sewing machines, custom t shirts and tote bags, tons of art supplies for painting, jewelry making, and more.
