Meet Zoologist (aka The Oregon Bird Man) Karl Anderson and a splendid assortment of his animals! This educational and entertaining program features parrot species from four continents in addition to some surprises from the reptile and mammal kingdoms. Learn about the natural history and unique behaviors of these beautiful and unique creatures.

Students slide, slither and hop into herpetology, the science of reptiles. We'll get up close and personal with live snakes, lizards and turtles in order to study the features which make this class of animals unique. Discover that snakes are smooth and dry, lizards have no earlobes, and geckos can lick their eyeballs! Best for grades K-8 with a grownup for K-5.

Meanwhile, puppet skits will explore themes like sharing nature's bounty and planting seeds of hope for the future.

Portland Insectarium is the city's first museum and zoo dedicated entirely to bugs! In this program there will be a selection of live bugs on display, such as tarantulas, mantises, and scorpions! Some are touchable bugs (roaches, isopods, millipedes), others preserved insect displays. Toys and other activities will be there to explore, plus experts to answer any questions! Suitable for all ages.

Walnut Ink is a gracefully beautiful painting and drawing material for artists of all skill levels to explore. Students will learn painting and composition techniques while creating unique small artworks.
