Bird watching is a wonderful way to exercise, explore nature, and make new friends. Kids will learn from a local expert birder and educator about the basics of birding, including how to I.D. local species, how to use binoculars, and how to stay safe when out in nature. You'll have the chance to make your own binoculars and use them in a nearby park to start your own birding adventure!

Join Irina Myachkin for a solo guitar performance followed by interactive music fun! We'll learn some Russian songs with instruction in English and Russian for all to enjoy. 

Dang Hoa will write names or short phrases in beautiful Vietnamese calligraphy for you to keep. 

Under the guidance of artist Liya Kot Kurkov, get acquainted with the rules of drawing and the correct use of pencils, erasers, brushes, and paints as you create a picture on a summer theme. 

ATTENTION: Accompaniment by an adult is required.

Kids will love making noise with Kids Junk Orchestra! Through the use of non-conventional items such as buckets and recycled items, youth learn how to create various sounds and rhythms. This class focuses on group cooperation, basic rhythm drumming skills, team building, specialized drumming instruction and a safe environment to perform musically. This event is first-come, first-serve.

What will you create? Bring your ideas, inventions, and projects to share or to get help on. Space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

To attend this program, you need to have basic computer skills and know how to use a computer with a mouse. If you are new to computers, entry-level computer classes and one-on-one assistance are available at the library.

Culturally relevant and identity-supporting craft time for teens who identify as Two-Spirit/LGBTQ+ and their allies. Come enjoy some 2S/Indigequeer culture and make a hard copy of your favorite fan fic (fan fiction). While these publications are typically online/digital only, learn how to make a copy of your own “book”, with your own cover art and illustrations.

For teens in grades 6-12.
