As part of Portland Design Month, this event is one of three activities to welcome attendees into Holgate Library to explore how the deeply participatory design process for this brand new library led to a similarly engaged public art process.
Artist Crystal Meneses and Activate Arts worked with the community to create an exciting mosaic mural that’s now featured at the new Holgate Library. In this workshop, held at the new Holgate, join Crystal and Activate Arts in creating artwork for a mosaic mural for NAYA in NE Portland. Crystal is inviting the community to create mosaic tiles as part of a community-centered, community-inspired artwork. These workshops are free for all ages and open to everyone. No prior art or mosaic experience is necessary. Just bring your enthusiasm and creative spirit!
