Gifts to The Library Foundation will support an interactive early learning space, a mobile creative learning lab, and a study space for teens at Northwest Library.

New features

Northwest Library will be in a new location, moving from a leased space to 2030 NW Pettygrove Street. This new location will be around 11,000 square feet, more than twice the size of the current building. The library will be across the street from a future city park to the north.

The building on Pettygrove was purchased in 2021. It will be renovated to turn it into a brand new library for the community. As a result, the new Northwest Library location will have a lower overall construction cost.

Based on community input, new features will include:

  • A large play and learning space for children and families.
  • Flexible meeting spaces for community use.
  • A teen area with space for technology, homework and creative expression.
  • Updated technology and internet.
  • New art that represents the community.

Get a sneak peek at the new color at Northwest Library. The color was voted on by you, the community. This concept is inspired by the Vaux’s Swift migration. The color palette reflects the sky and sunset as the birds funnel into the Chapman Elementary School chimney.
