Vote for your favorite color palette for Northwest Library

Thanks to the support of voters, Multnomah County Library is hard at work on a major transformation. Northwest Library will be in a new location, moving from a leased space to 2030 NW Pettygrove Street. This new location will be around 11,000 square feet, more than twice the size of the current building. The building on Pettygrove was purchased in 2021. It will be renovated to turn it into a brand new library for the community. Through listening sessions and meetings, community members have provided so many great ideas for the interior of the library. Now the building project team wants to hear from you again. The building project team is separate from library management. Your input will help guide the building design, not library services.

Vote for your favorite design from Monday, June 17 - Monday, July 1!

Color Palette A: Swifts

This concept is inspired by the Vaux’s Swift migration. The color palette reflects the sky and sunset as the birds funnel into the Chapman Elementary School chimney.

Color Palette B: Slabtown

This concept is inspired by the industrial history of the Slabtown Neighborhood. The warm color palette is based on wood sold by local lumber mills. The wood was used for heating many of the neighborhood’s homes.
