I like to read books that resist classification - is it a poem or an essay? A story or a manifesto? Memoir or natural history? I love writing that puzzles me and turn the world upside down. I tend to be fascinated by your reference question, no matter what it's about, but I must say that I do enjoy researching local history and genealogy - I love imagining Oregon in days of old. I also enjoy well-written fantasy books from time to time, and I read lots and lots of children's books!
