First thing to know is that I'm Louisiana to the core with a dash of Latin culture: New Mexican & Creole. That means food-spicy, music-soulful, and family-a lot of 'em. We talk too much and love too hard but we don't care; we just take afternoon naps and shrug it off.
The ancestors teach that life on earth is meant to be enjoyed and not a moment of it wasted. I thank my Dad for my love of books. Because he gave me that, time is never boring. I thank my Mother for my respect of humanity and my desire to be of service in this life. (blame her for my addiction to German Chocolate Cake and big Sunday dinners)
To educate myself is a great joy and responsibility. We stand on the shoulders of giants. I do not want 'girls gone wild' & Ferguson to define my age. So: adventure and techno-thrillers; popular science and spiritual sages; cultures clashing and historical fiction (must be based on fact-such as we have.) Audio books are the best thing since Louisiana Hot Sauce.
I cook and read; listen to music and read; work on a cranky century house and read. Sense a trend?
I got mad respect for anybody trying to make a difference in this world.
