Sign up for School Corps booktalks and book tubs

To qualify to receive book tubs, your school must meet two conditions:

  1. Your school must be in Multnomah County
  2. At least 60% of students must be on free or reduced lunch

If both are true for you, please check "yes" below.

If both are not true, please do not complete this form as we cannot provide this service for you.

Silly, fun beginning readers for 1st and 2nd grade: Beginning readers that young children will enjoy reading, formerly known as the Geisel Award booktalks

Pura Belpré award booktalks: A celebration of Latine culture! A librarian presents Pura Belpré Award winners and honor books and leaves a tub of books for the class to enjoy. (for grades 1-3, takes about 30 minutes, presentation can be done in Spanish)

Beverly Cleary nominees for 3rd grade: These books are the nominees for the 2023 Beverly Cleary Children's Choice Award.

Windows and Mirrors books for 6th-7th grade: These books reflect students' lives and also help them learn about experiences of kids with different cultural backgrounds, abilities, and identities.

For each type, School Corps staff will visit your classroom, introduce each book, and leave a tub of books behind for six weeks.

We'll only use this to confirm with you and to schedule a date for the booktalks.
Pick one, two, three or all.

We'll get back to you about scheduling the visits in the fall.
