We serve a variety of social services centers for the homeless and formerly homeless. Each month 18 outreach volunteers deliver collections of books, magazines, audiobooks, movies and jigsaw puzzles to adults, teens and children in homeless shelters, domestic abuse and teen shelters, social service and daytime drop-in centers, and transitional housing and permanent housing centers for the formerly homeless.
Each month we send out interest sheets. Some of the most requested subjects are alcohol and drug recovery, job hunting, inspiration, health (especially books on diabetes), parenting & pregnancy, GED, mysteries and science fiction. Last year we delivered over 19,000 items.
