Self-publishing request

Responsibilities
  • One submission per person, 13 years of age, or older. Submission received is considered final work and cannot be edited and resubmitted at a later date.
  • You must have a library card issued by Multnomah County Library to enter. (Get a Library card)
  • Entries must be the writer's own work and may not be submitted without the writer’s knowledge and consent. No previously published works or works accepted for publication elsewhere will be accepted.
  • You must hold all rights to your submission, including the right to provide the e-book to Multnomah County Library for use in the collection.
  • In order to consider your submission, your e-book must remain available on the self-publishing site (Smashwords, Draft2Digital, or Kobo Writing Life) through the end of 2018. A chapter, or its equivalent, will be read for judging purposes.
  • You agree your e-book may be mentioned and publicized in any library brochure, print ad, direct mail piece, social media, electronic media, (e.g. video, Internet, website) or other form of promotion without remuneration or further consent.
  • There will be no monetary compensation or license fee provided for submissions.
  • Submissions must be entered by 11:59 p.m. PST, Monday, December 17, 2018.
  • Selected authors will be notified by phone or email.
  • All decisions by the judging committee are final.
