I spent 20+ of my early life growing up in Nigeria, where I graduated with a Masters in Civil Engineering and taught the same to undergrad students at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. I have a daughter going to Junior High and a son in Elementary school. I love working with children and am the Director of the Art Smart program at Tualatin Valley Academy (TVA). In this capacity, for the past 7 years I’ve taught 4 new Art Smart projects each year to around 170 children from preschool through 6th grade, and to some parent volunteers as well. Each of these art projects are from different cultures from around the world and I have, so far, taught 25 unique projects. I always look at ways to teach them an art that is fun, exciting, creative and skills improvement or learning.

Kids and parents absolutely love the Art Smart projects. I love seeing the excitement in their eyes with each project and how they look forward to the next one as many ask “when are we doing our next project?” or simply saying “I love Art Smart” It makes me appreciative of them and their happiness as I work on bringing the next fun project.
