Sharon M. Draper delivers Multnomah County Library’s Teen Author Lecture on May 14

Draper is a five-time winner of the Coretta Scott King Literary Awards and a New York Times bestselling author

PORTLAND, Ore. — May 6, 2014 — Award-winning and bestselling author and educator Sharon M. Draper will deliver Multnomah County Library’s 2014 Teen Author Lecture on Wednesday, May 14, at 7 pm.

The event is free and hosted at Portland Community College’s Cascade Campus in the Moriarty Arts and Humanities Building, 705 N Killingsworth St., Portland. Doors open at 6:30 pm. A book sale and signing will follow the lecture.

Sharon M. Draper is a five-time winner of the Coretta Scott King Literary Awards and a New York Times bestselling author; she has been honored at the White House six times and named National Teacher of the Year. Her catalog of books for young adult readers includes “Tears of a Tiger” (1994), “Romiette and Julio” (1999), “Copper Sun” (2006), “Out of My Mind” (2010) and “Panic” (2013).
