Library software upgrade begins May 12

All Multnomah County libraries to open at noon May 16

PORTLAND, Ore. — April 29, 2019 — Beginning on at 5 pm on May 12 and through May 15, Multnomah County Library will upgrade the software that powers the library catalog, manages patron accounts and tracks library materials. The new software will provide improved email and phone notifications and better self-checkout stations. To ensure a smooth upgrade, all libraries will open at noon on May 16.

While most users will experience a seamless transition, some library services will be limited during the three-day period. During that time, patrons will be unable to place holds or manage their library account online. Patrons will still be able to access e-books, audiobooks and streaming content. The library has extended due dates so that no items will be due May 13-15. Patrons will not accrue late fines due to the upgrade.

In addition, some programming, including storytimes, will be limited leading up to the upgrade due to staff training on the new software. Please check the library’s event schedule for updated program times. We apologize for any inconvenience to patrons. For questions about your account, please visit any Multnomah County library, call 503-988-5123 or contact us online.
