Celebrate the power of books in creating a stronger community.
Through a shared reading experience we will discuss issues that matter, learn from each other and promote greater understanding.
The Everybody Reads 2014 selection is My Beloved World by United States Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
Extra copies of the books are now available at all neighborhood libraries and additional e-books are available through Overdrive, thanks to the generous support of The Library Foundation. Readers are encouraged to share these extra copies with friends, coworkers and neighbors. Get the e-book now.
Throughout February, share your thoughts at a book discussion at your neighborhood library or bookstore.
Attend a cultural program throughout February.
Sotomayor will speak on Tuesday, March 11, at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. For more information, on the lecture event please visit Literary Arts.
Due to exciting and unprecedented response to this event, tickets to the live lecture are sold out, but you can still attend a live simulcast of the lecture at the Kridel Ballroom at the Portland Art Museum. Tickets to the simulcast are $5 and are available for purchase online at the Portland Art Museum Box Office.
Everybody Reads, a community reading project of Multnomah County Library, is made possible in part by The Library Foundation.
Programming support is provided in part by Literary Arts, Portland State University, Oregon Public Broadcasting, Pamplin Media Group, and Regional Arts and Culture Council. This project is supported in part by a grant from the Oregon Cultural Trust: Oregonians sustaining, developing and participating in our arts, heritage and humanities.
