Youth Curated Black History Traveling Museum SEL

World Stage Theatre has partnered with Black Student Union groups from four Portland metro high schools that include Reynolds, Jefferson, Cleveland, and Benson. Each group has chosen a specific time period in history to highlight the African American experience to do collective research and curate pieces for the displays.

The traveling museum will be exhibited at their local library for the month of February, as an extension of the First Annual, city-wide, Black History Festival to take place in February 1-28, 2018. Displays from all six locations will be included in the Our Story Collins Gallery in July-August, 2018 along with artifacts, writings and artistic’ works.
